About 500 metres from the pond, beside the walking route to Česká Kubice, lies a rocking stone called Čertovo kamen, the Devil’s Rock. A hundred years ago it could still be moved. It is more than four metres long and about 1.5 metres high. The devil once rested on it, and the marks of his hooves and tail are still visible. Once the stone was pushed from its place; that night people heard the devil panting as he pushed it back up again. It was also called the Devil’s Mill, supposedly because the fiend ground his grain on it. In the previous century, railway workers knocked it off its bed. B. Balbín had already mentioned it in his Miscellanea.
