Above Rtyně nad Bílinou rises Chotínská hora, or Kotyně, with the ruins of Paradies, “Paradise” Castle. Treasures supposedly lie inside the hill. A widespread tale is told here: on Good Friday during the Passion, a poor woman from Žalany walked the slope with her son. A thunderous crash sounded beside enormous boulders; one rolled away, revealing a long passage. She entered with the child and found a shining treasure. Dazzled by gold, she forgot her son while carrying riches outside. Suddenly the hill closed, forcing her to wait an entire year to see him again…
