A treasure lies hidden in the old castle ruins on the town’s southern edge, allegedly guarded by the devil himself as a black dog with fiery eyes. It is accessible only on St John’s Eve, when a heap of ducats shines brightly in the cellar. A Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers supposedly once stood near the ruins. Another treasure lies in underground passages there, guarded by a dragon. It can allegedly be recovered only after freeing an enchanted maiden. The cellar key must be torn from the jaws of a fiery dog that sometimes appears in the valley on Beran Bridge.
