Near Borotín, on a hill above Nový Kostelec, stands the old church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The village of Zelený Kostelec once lay beneath it. According to folk tradition, however, a monastery and a great town stood here. Great treasures are supposedly still hidden at the spot. Cottagers from a neighbouring village once dug in the cemetery until they reached an iron door. It reportedly bore the inscription: “You damned souls! Whoever put nothing here, let him take nothing away!” They filled the pit back in, and no one has tried to recover the treasure since.
