On a low hill east of town stands the white, originally Romanesque Church of Sts Peter and Paul. The place is called Na Byšičkách. The village of Byšice allegedly once stood here, but sank into the earth because of its inhabitants’ sins. Only the church escaped destruction, thanks to the sole local believer, who prayed on its steps to his patron, St Peter. Two hollows in the hard stone, supposedly worn by his knees as he interceded, can still be seen by the church door. Erben’s ballad The Wedding Shirts is associated with this church and cemetery and with the road from Miletín to Byšičky. The K. J. Erben walking trail passes here today. A legend of treasure in nearby Červená Třemešná provided the basis for the ballad The Treasure.
