In the time of the apostles Cyril and Methodius, a hermit settled by Svatá voda and built a little chapel. Fauns, nature demigods and the last remnant of a dying pagan world, were said still to live nearby. The hermit managed to baptise one of them, and the faun served him. Yet a trace of the old faith remained in him, and together with his companions he undermined the chapel. It then sank into the depths, burying the hermit too. Since then, on moonless nights as the sun approaches the summer solstice, the faun is said to ring the bells of the underground chapel in atonement for his guilt.
