The village of Bezno stands on a rock bearing the ruins of an old building, in whose cellar a robber knight’s treasure is supposedly hidden. After his death Satan obtained it. A dreadful dog with fiery eyes guards the treasure. Every seven years, groaning is heard underground; only then can the treasure be won with the help of a black cockerel with a cross between its legs. On Witches’ Night, 30 April, moving lights are said to be visible on the rock after dark. J. V. Grohmann recorded the legend.
