Velké Meziříčí · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The Scourge of God

Tradition associates the original castle's foundation with the Hun commander Attila, in 434–453. Samo supposedly later restored it in 638 and named it Samohrad. Hormidor, the ninth mythical king of Moravia, allegedly died here and was later buried at Špilberk in Brno.
