A chaplain once lived in Borová who was tempted by the Devil. He wagered his soul that he could finish morning Mass before the Devil brought an enormous boulder from Nížkov to Borová. The load was too heavy for the fiend, who had to rest often and finally lost. In fury he threw the stone away. It landed on Peperek hill (675 m), east of Velká Losenice. It is still known by that name, and until some time ago the marks of the Devil's chain could still be seen on one of the boulders here.
