On the bank beside the stream is a furrow ploughed by the Devil with the help of an old woman. After the exhausting work she fell dead, which is why people say 'Tu padla'—'here she fell'. The Devil angrily hurled the ploughshare into the pond and threw the old woman in after it. An enormous flat boulder, supported by a smaller stone, still protrudes from the pond's mud. The upper stone, called the Ploughshare, is three metres high and more than a metre wide.
