In the hamlet of Otruby, two kilometres north, a wooden cross was erected at the foot of a slope because of the apparition of the village’s former owner, Baron Riese. During a famine this heartless man angrily told his subjects on the Blahotice estate to go and graze on the hillside at Otruby. After his death a ghost appeared here in the form of a grazing white horse, gazing sadly towards Blahotice. The baron’s heirs later had a cross put up here, and the apparition has supposedly not been seen since.
