Strange apparitions occurred in the Franciscan monastery in the second half of the seventeenth century. At midnight the monastery mysteriously lit up and a great noise could be heard. An apparition in the form of a dwarf walked along its corridors and struck every Franciscan it encountered with a long rod. A record of this apparition survives in the monastery’s memorial book, begun in 1750. According to the book, an exorcist was summoned and banished the apparition. Surroundings:
