An evil spirit in the form of a knight in green armour once terrorised this place. He especially preyed on young girls, luring them into the castle and leaving them to die in a starvation dungeon. He wished to marry one of the girls, but she refused him even after he showed her the bones of his victims in the dungeon. He killed the priest summoned to marry them with an axe when the priest refused to perform the ceremony. Meanwhile the people of the surrounding area rose up and captured the castle. Thanks to his magical powers the Green Knight escaped, but first he transformed the girl, who still defied him, into a snake.
