In the forest towards Plzeň is a plot of land called the Devil’s Hole. Old tradition says an exit from hell once lay here. At the witching hour the devil appeared as a black animal or a black-clad man wearing a red cloak. People avoided the spot; only those longing for contact with hell came here to invoke the devil.
