Treasures are also said to be hidden among the castle ruins, guarded by a fiery dog and a White Lady. An underground passage beneath the castle led to the neighbouring castle on Kouřim. The fiery dog runs through it, guarding the treasures for a descendant of the lords of Pušperk. The descendant must make himself known to the dog but must not lash out at it. The story draws on a persistent legend about hostility between the lord of Pušperk and the owner of the nearby fortress on Kouřim hill. According to that tale, men from Kouřim broke into Liška Castle and killed its lord and the entire garrison. (See Chudenice.)
