A great treasure was allegedly hidden among the castle ruins, guarded by the enchanted spirit of the lord and the White Lady of Libštejn. They had once been murdered at the castle by the lord of Krašov, and their bones thrown into deep cellars. A farmer named Klouz, the eleventh descendant of the innocent victims, released them from their enchantment; another version says he merely buried their bones. The castle also has a version of the tale about a woman who left her child in a treasure chamber and could see it again only after a year.
