Kraselov's chronicle says locust swarms descended in 1748, destroying everything in the fields. The people of Kraselov, Němčice, Hoslovice and other villages beat them with long rods tied with scarves into prepared ditches and buried them. A curious legend persisted that their wings bore the words: ‘Please do not beat us, for God has sent us against you.’
