Kraselov · STORY FROM THE ATLAS

The chest of death

A Gothic chest in a side chapel of St Lawrence's church bears an old inscription showing it once served Charles IV for storing saints' relics. It later belonged to the Chanovský, Dlouhoveský and Častolar families, kept first at Rabí castle and later here. Whenever a family member was to die, the chest announced it with a peculiar loud knock of its own accord.
