At Neplachovice Château, now part of Holasovice, appeared the ghost of a wicked steward. His eyes were said to be “like eggs”, and after death they had to be pressed shut with “pound-weight” stones. He appeared wrapped in chains, fire shooting from his eyes. Sometimes he changed into a three-legged horse and leapt at fleeing travellers.
