A black knight’s castle supposedly once stood here. Legend says he took a local bride and had a child with her. But the woman was unhappy and longed to return home. The knight, probably allied with the devil, transformed into a huntsman and promised to lead her away. He told her to walk without looking back. Just then the child, which she had to leave in the castle, began crying. The woman turned and saw the black knight’s ghost. He hurled the child from the Devil’s Wall and finally threw its mother down too. The castle then supposedly sank into the earth with a crash.
