Three rocky cliffs stand before the castle. According to legend, they are petrified girls, giving the castle its names Děvičky, Dívčí hrady or Maidenburg. In one tale they were a Tatar princess and her companions; in another, three daughters of Lord Arnulf whom the diabolical Trabaccio sought to dishonour; in a third, three disobedient daughters cursed by their mother. On quiet nights, soft lamenting can be heard from the stones.
