To the left of the road from Masákova Lhota to Nový Dvůr is Hrbek hill (897 m), locally called Hrbeček. Several cottages once stood there, supposedly inhabited by witches. Beyond Kočičov was an abandoned cottage where witches flew for their gathering on Christmas Eve. It was therefore customary to shoot 'at witches' that evening and night to thwart their magic.
