The village lies at the northeastern foot of Věnec mountain (765 m), where prehistoric ramparts are still visible. Tradition says a great treasure is hidden here, obtainable only on Good Friday during the reading of the Passion in church. Another version says a treasury chest lies on Věnec, its keys sometimes flying through the forest at night like fiery lights. An old woman from Budilov supposedly caught one key, kept for many years in house no.7. Another legend says the treasure vanished and can be found only by a young man who ploughs the whole hill with a wooden plough drawn by two black oxen with white blazes. Both animals must also be born to the same cow of the same colouring.
