Beside the Berounka near Týřovice, about two kilometres downstream opposite Kouřimec hill, is a rock formation long called the Devil's Rock. A local fisherman pledged his daughter to the Devil in exchange for a bridge across the river. The Devil was almost finished when the fisherman managed at the last moment to wake a cock and make it crow early. The rock is therefore the remnant of an attempted infernal bridge.
