In the village of Cidlina, on the site of today’s houses nos. 1, 21 and 28, once stood a fortified manor given by Albrecht of Wallenstein to the Jesuits of Jičín in 1624. The place is still called Ve tvrzi, “At the Manor”. At night the ghosts of four men in black Jesuit cowls appear here, sit at a table and vanish after an hour. At midnight a great racket often broke out, as if empty barrels were rolling through corridors, down stairs and across the loft.
