According to legend, the robber knight Vavřinec Toulovec of Třemošná kept his horses in stables among the canyon-like sandstone rocks and ravines. His stronghold supposedly stood in Jarošov, where house no.75 is still called Na tvrzi or Na zámku. A passage once led from it through deep cellars into the rocks. Beneath a place called Hůry, in the so-called Máselná clearing, treasures of the robber knight are supposedly buried, brought here from as far as Moravia and Hungary. When a punitive expedition was mounted against him, he withdrew with his band into the rocks near Budislav, and the treasure remains below Hůry to this day. In reality, Vavřinec Toulovec was a respected, wealthy burgher of Litomyšl who greatly helped the town to prosper.
