Ghosts Addicted to Cards

From 1201 to 1784, the village belonged to the Premonstratensian monastery at Hradisko near Olomouc and was the centre of its local estate. The monks built a Renaissance château here, extensively remodelled in the nineteenth century. Legends of buried treasure and apparitions of former prelates survived in the area, especially at a place called Na hradě. Their gold tableware and cutlery are said to be buried there. Strange singing of psalms can sometimes be heard from the spot. Ghostly prelates have also been seen playing cards.
