Red monks supposedly once lived at Skála Castle and minted counterfeit ducats. The royal army therefore laid siege to it. But the monks threw some treasures into the deep well, buried others or hid them in cellars, and set the castle on fire. Their riches remain in those hiding places to this day, guarded by a tomcat with fiery eyes.
