Strange wailing and noise occasionally come from Stříbro’s town hall, dating to 1543 and rebuilt in 1589. It is haunted by the souls of executed criminals who looted the town during the plague around 1725, protecting themselves from infection with a sponge soaked in spiced vinegar.
