After 1654 Střela belonged to a Jesuit college. A great treasure is supposedly hidden in the ruins, notably twelve silver statues of apostles lowered into the deep well during a siege. A sale contract of 1809 even mentions them, stipulating that any treasures found should belong to the seller. There was also a secret passage leading to Podskalí, a rocky slope above the Otava about half an hour away. Two openings survive there, popularly called Žižka’s Passage.
