East of Staňkov, on Hrádek Hill at the edge of the Výtuň forest district, lie the remains of medieval Lacembok Castle. Its legend tells of two vain princesses who had a long wooden gallery built all the way to the little church at Hlohová, where they attended Mass. One day, out of vanity, they wore shoes made of wheat dough. They made it only along the gallery to the church, where lightning struck and killed them both. This local tale is among the oldest versions and was recorded here by the Brothers Grimm. Lacembok was also said to be connected by an underground passage to Hlohová church, or to the old inn there.
