Sion Castle once stood on a rocky hill above the Vrchlice stream and the village of Chlístovice. The treasures of its founder, Jan Roháč of Dubá, are said to be hidden in the ruins. The castle was captured and burnt after a siege in 1437, and Jan Roháč was executed in Prague’s Old Town Square. Anyone wishing to obtain his riches must come here on Palm Sunday. If they see three figures, their prospects are good. They must return on Maundy Thursday; seeing two ghosts is another good sign. On Good Friday a single spirit will appear, walking along before stopping, pointing ahead and waving its hand. One must pay attention to where it points and how many times it waves. Then one must walk in the indicated direction for the corresponding number of steps and begin digging there. At least, that is what the old tradition claims.
