A certain Stembach was once steward of the castle. Returning after a long journey, he heard a great crashing from the attic. He gathered the servants and they hurried up, finding a deep abyss. A sinful lady had supposedly sunk there. Since then the hole cannot be walled up. Ghostly shadows of tall boots are also said to appear in the castle.
