Two rows of huge boulders called the Steps are piled on a hillside near the village, forming something like walls. Their meeting point is called Hradisko or Zámčisko and holds the remains of a medieval castle. A cellar below Zámčisko was still visible in the previous century. The robber knight Bočkaj’s treasures are supposedly buried here. On St John the Baptist’s Day, the sun is said to shine exactly on the door leading underground. A White Lady, who appears with two pairs of white horses, wears its little key on her middle finger. Sorcerers were also said to appear here, leading poor people to treasures. Near Zámčisko is the so-called Cattle Graveyard, a group of cracked rocks where robbers supposedly drove stolen cattle. A great stone lies there, with more robbers’ treasures supposedly hidden beneath it.
