The Jesuits’ Chest

Beside the former Jesuit college, now a psychiatric hospital for young people, stands a Baroque pilgrimage church built in 1732–1735, once a frequent pilgrimage destination. Northwest of the village, inside Chlum hill at Na hradišti, the Opařany Jesuits allegedly buried their treasure during the Seven Years’ War. It is said to be a chest of valuables, still resting there.
