Jan of Velhartice allegedly hid his three beautiful daughters and all his treasures in the castle’s round tower to protect them from a Bavarian attack. Soon afterwards the castle fell, and all three girls died in the tower, since called the Maidens’ Tower. Their ghosts walk through the deserted ruins on Palm Sunday. Hidden treasures are supposedly buried beneath them.
