Kolence is now part of Novosedly nad Nežárkou. One stone called the Devil’s Footprints lies in the forest near the road to Třeboň, bearing the impressions of a bull’s and a goat’s feet. Legend says the devil rested here while flying to Rome for a column he had wagered he could carry to Prague’s Vyšehrad before the priest there finished Mass. The second Devil’s Footprint lies to the right in the forest along the road from Kolence to Novosedly. Its hollows resemble goat hoofprints. (See Prague.)
