A pagan treasure is said to be hidden beneath the scant remains of the thirteenth-century early Gothic castle. It supposedly lies beneath an old rampart, a fortification from prehistoric times. Another tradition says that vineyards belonging to the Jesuits of Jičín once lay on the slope below the castle ruins. When the order was dissolved, some Jesuits hid for a time in the local wine cellar. There was also a spring here, with many barrels of wine stored beside it. Later they skilfully walled up the cellar entrance. A spring still flows here, but no one has yet reached the cellars and their treasures.
