In the extensive Kákov forest west of the village lies Kákovský kámen hill (655 m). Legend says it was once a castle turned to stone with its cruel inhabitants. Only once a year, on Good Friday during the reading of the Passion in church, does the castle briefly appear in its former grandeur and beauty. Treasures are allegedly hidden in its underground chambers and have often been sought. Another legend connects Kákovský kámen with the pilgrimage spring at Nicov. (See Nicov near Plánice.)
