An old pilgrimage site in the Třebová region was Koruna Monastery, Sancta Corona or Maria Krone, founded in 1267 in a meander of the Moravská Sázava between present-day Třebářov and Krasíkov. It ceased to exist in 1550; only part of the convent church’s walls remains. Nearby Rychnov became a pilgrimage destination after Koruna’s disappearance. There was a miraculous spring on the northern foot of Rychnov hill, Marienbründel, beside which a Marian chapel was built, as well as the Baroque Church of St Nicholas. Crowds came seeking God’s grace and allegedly found it here. A wooden statue of the Virgin Mary was especially revered, but was moved from the spring to the parish church in 1749. Mass pilgrimages were organised from 1750, and Rychnov was sometimes called New Mariazell after the famous Austrian sanctuary. Another spring associated with miraculous healings is the so-called Dove Spring below the summit of Husák hill. A Marian chapel was erected beside it, and many processions came there too.
