Above Machov rises Bor mountain (915 m), whose summit is split by deep ravines and caves. Among the many rock formations one can see a seated maiden and an entire petrified château. Legend says she was the local count’s daughter, enchanted by Krakonoš because she refused to marry him. Every Good Friday, while the Passion is read, the château appears in all its former splendour. The princess also comes to life and makes a single stitch in the shirt she is sewing. When she finishes the shirt, the world is said to end.
