At night the ghost of the local knight appears among the ruins, wailing and lamenting. A pilgrim from Jerusalem once came to him and reproached him for his dishonourable life. The knight locked him in a cellar with the curse: “May snakes and scorpions torment you to death!” From that moment the vermin allegedly multiplied so greatly that they devoured the knight alive as well.
