Near Ružomberok, beside the village of Likavka, a castle stands on a rocky outcrop of Malý Choč. It is first mentioned in writing in 1312. Rákoczy had it demolished in 1707. A treasure remains hidden in the castle to this day. It is said that, during a long siege by imperial troops, the owner had a deep pit dug in the courtyard and lowered a chest of treasure into it. He then killed the servant who had dug the pit and buried him with the treasure. When the imperial army captured the castle, the lord was killed too. The murdered servant’s spirit still guards the buried treasure. An underground passage is also said to connect the castle with Lisková Cave.
