Barely visible remains now survive of a 14th-century castle associated with legends of buried treasures. According to one, two proud maidens once lived there. They had shoes made from bread, and when they put them on, the castle sank into the earth with them. For a long time afterwards, weeping and moaning were said to rise from the ground at night where the castle had stood.
