On a wooded hill beside the village stand the ruins of a monastery of the congregation of St Francis of Paola, founded in 1495. Yet folk tradition claims that Jan Žižka had already burned it down. The souls of executed and burned monks wander through the underground monastery passages. These interconnecting tunnels form a true labyrinth. They are said to run beneath the Šumava forests as far as Bavaria. Most of the monks also escaped an enemy raid through them.
