Chotuc, a marlstone hill (253 m) west above town, probably held an ancient pagan sanctuary. A Holy Trinity church was later built there. Legend tells of a shepherd from nearby Bošín finding a great hoard of gold and silver coins in a pit on the summit. A secret passage supposedly connected Chotuc with medieval Kuncberk manor on the low hill (216 m) north of town. After its completion the owner allegedly gathered the workers in a wooden hut under the pretext of a feast, then burned it so none could reveal the passage. His wife erected a chapel in memory of the atrocity, still standing above the road to Rožďalovice.
