On windy nights in the V háji meadow near Krty appeared a rider galloping at full speed on a white horse. He was supposedly the cruel steward of the local estate, who tormented and humiliated his serfs. Once he deprived orphans of their inheritance and sold them to a friend, receiving a large reward and the beautiful horse. Their mother cursed him and he soon died. The ill-gotten horse became his doom: every night his ghost had to ride to all the places where he committed crimes.
