A church with a golden bell once stood here and supposedly sank into the earth because of the people's sins. The bell travels underground until it reaches the roots of a particular pine, from beneath which a wild sow will one day dig it up. This meant the famous Erbenka pine, named after K. J. Erben, which died in 1934 and was replaced by a granite memorial. Other legends concern this spot in Kostelec's Stráň. A buried treasure opens only at Easter during the Passion reading. St Wenceslas's army is also supposedly hidden here, ready to aid the country in its darkest hour.
