On Bukovec mountain (1005 m), described in the source as Central Europe's highest basalt summit, lie treasures of the mythical Jizera, daughter of the lord of Hvězda castle at Příchovice and personification of the Jizerské mountains. They supposedly still await discovery. The basalt rock opens twice yearly, on Maundy Thursday and St John's Day before sunrise. A version also tells of a woman who forgot her child while gathering treasure and recovered it a year later. Gold grains, blue sapphires and rubies can still be found in the sandy deposits of the Safírový stream, Jizerka and Jizera. Rare black garnets, iserines, are called Jizera's tears.
