An ambitious lord once lived here who wanted the most splendid castle and cellars. He therefore pledged himself to the pagan god Černoboh. The god heard him and began building swiftly. But when he saw a procession with Cyril and Methodius, he realised that his rule in Moravia was ending and hurled a stone into the ground. It remained standing there, and people call it Sloup, “The Pillar”, in memory of the legendary event.
